Glory Days!

We all know this term. Most of us have heard the song Glory Days by Bruce Springsteen. In fact, almost every one of us can tell a “Glory Day” story about our lives! My definition of Glory Days is this: “The past that once was, but no longer is.” These are times in our lives when everything seems to be going right. But, you know, sometimes our Glory Days don’t seem like such glory days when we are in the middle of them. For example, intense football practices every day are not so glorious. Winning state? Now, that is glorious. Long hours working at a job - not so glorious. Getting a promotion and a big raise - glorious! You see, this is the thing about Glory Days: you don’t even realize you are IN your glory days when you are living your glory days!

I have news for you, Church! The glory days are yet to come, and they have not passed us by! I don’t know about you, but I believe what the Bible says. Isaiah prophesied that the whole earth will be filled with the Glory!

God told Moses, “all the earth shall be filled with the Glory of the Lord.” That is yet to come.

Paul said in Ephesians that the riches of His glory IS for the inheritance of His saints. That is us! Get excited, Champions! Be expecting! Champions are always striving toward a goal and setting high expectations. There is not any team, anywhere that ever starts a season expecting to lose. They expect the next season to be better than the last.

Church, we should expect the next season of our lives to be better than the last season of our lives. We should expect the next day to be better than yesterday. Raise your expectancy bar to a higher level. Expect the Glory Days in every day of your life! The Glory Days are now. We’ve been equipped with everything we need to walk in the Glory Days. The goodness of God is upon us. Healing, prosperity, peace, joy - all the benefits of God are ours. All these benefits working in our lives will bring forth the ability to reach the lost! It is God’s desire that not one person shall perish, but that we all will come into the kingdom of God. Glory Days!

Champions, we must decide! Today, we must decide that we will not let the Glory Days pass us by. We must determine that no matter what “curve ball” is thrown our way, we will choose to walk in the benefits that God has so strategically placed in our lives. What do I mean by strategically placed? The Word of God tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.” (MSG)

You know what that means to me? No matter what you are going through, God has strategically placed a way in your life to come out of what you are going through. He not only wants you to come out of what you are going through, but come out of it Gloriously! Praise God!

Sing it with me, Champions, “Glory Days, well, they’ll pass you by…” WAIT! No! Let’s rewrite that song. “Glory Days, well, they’ll NOT pass me by. Glory days, in an instant upon my life. Living every day, in the Glory Days!”

Join me next time as I share with you the D’s of the Devil that try to steal your Glory Days.
