Life of Praise Pt. 5
Hello Partner and Friends!
Today, let’s continue talking about letting our life be one that brings God glory and praise. If you’re just joining us, take a look back at the last few blogs to get caught up.
Our key scripture for this series is found in Ephesians 1:12:
As a result, we - the first to place our hope in the anointed one- will live in a way to bring Him glory and praise.
Today, we are talking about the fourth way that we can have our lives bring glory and praise to God, and that is by loving others. We are going to look at a key scripture today concerning this very thing. I pray that it brings great understanding into your ability to love others.
In 1 Peter 4:8-11 (NLT) the word of God tells us, “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay. God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.
I have italicized some keywords that will help us know how to show love towards others:
Be cheerful with others. Even when you don’t feel like it, override your flesh, and be cheerful and friendly with others. This is the love of God.
Use your gifts. You can love others by using your gifts to help others. For example, if your gift is to organize, then help someone organize an event. This will bring God praise and show the love of God.
Serve each other. When you serve in your church and community it gives you an opportunity for you to show God’s love to those around you.
Speak the Word of God into the lives of others. Doing so will show others that you care, and you will bring God praise and glory by walking in love with your words.
Help each other. When someone is in need, help them by giving your time, praying for them, helping them with the situation by being ever-ready and hands on. This is the love of God.
Remember, none of the above is not done in our own strength! It is done with the strength and energy that God supplies. Praise God! I don’t have to do this alone because the word of God tells me that the love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit. So, all I have to do is tap into the Holy Spirit and His strength and then I can effectively love others. By loving others, my life will bring God glory and praise!
